Julia, Libby and Mandy returned to Corio Campus as special guests to attend the Middle School Founders' Day Lunch on Wednesday 22 June. The trio were members of the first cohort of girls to be enrolled at the School in 1972 and, during their visit, they were shown an exhibition in the Main Quad about the history of co-education at GGS by Alannah D'Andrea (Yr12 Ga), Katya Ewing (Yr12 He), Grace Forbes (Yr12 He) and Lucie Gill (Yr12 He). The guest speaker at the Lunch was last year's School Captain, Michaela Sorrenti (EM'21).

Marta Dusseldorp (Cl’90)

Marta appears as Prosecutor Lucy Bloom in the new Foxtel drama series The Twelve, adapted from Belgian series De Twaalf. The Twelve is a gripping courtroom drama that tells the story of 12 ordinary Australians who are selected for jury duty in a murder trial as traumatising as it is controversial, in which a woman stands accused of killing her teenage niece. The Twelve premiered on Fox Showcase on Tuesday 20 June.

Marta, who has starred in acclaimed Australian dramas A Place to Call Home, Jack Irish and Wentworth, also began filming for new series Bay of Fires in her home state of Tasmania this week. “I’m beyond thrilled to be bringing this series to life in my home state of Tasmania, the cast and creative team we have assembled are extraordinary and I look forward to producing a captivating and an original Tassie noir series,” she told the ABC, which will screen the eight-part series that she has co-created with Andrew Knight – her first foray into the TV creation/ writing space.

Oskar Faulkhead (Cu’21)

Oskar was drafted by the Gold Coast Suns in this year’s AFL mid-season draft. The Suns used their only mid-season draft selection on Oskar, who spent the first half of the year splitting his time between the Bendigo Pioneers and the Geelong Cats VFL team.

Oskar hit the ground running in his debut with the Suns’ VFL side, collecting 19 disposals and kicking a goal.
